A note to winter…
Dear Winter,
I was sort of ok with you around Christmas time so that the big guy in red could deliver my presents, however I think you may be overstaying your welcome. While you do make everything look pretty it’s hard for those of us with short leg issues to maneuver in you while taking care of business if you know what I mean… please return the sun to us and be on your way. I sort of look forward to seeing you next winter. Sincerely, Miss Lilly
New year, clean pup…
Apparently since it is a new year and all that means I’m supposed to get a bath. Something about early “spring cleaning”…..
Definitely not impressed with this decision….just gonna pout here with my towel for awhile on mom’s nice dry bed!
New lounger
So mom FINALLY got all of my subtle hints and bought me this new lounger for our back deck. Now I can survey my kingdom in comfort from both my front and back yards. Plus she picked a color that really highlights my fur. Just wish she would have picked up on my cues earlier…oh well, that’s life I guess!
A little update..
So finally got to go to the pet store for a shopping trip! I had the whole aisle to myself and picked out some pretty good eats.
The weather has also improved and we’ve been doing a lot of grilling…this is one of my prepared meals. The chef forgot that I ordered a side of bacon though….I ate it anyway but did tell the manager (aka mom).
We have also still been going on our fun hikes in the woods. I am always pack leader and am constantly surveying the area for potential threats (aka chipmunks). I guess that’s all for now just wanted to share a little update of what I’ve been up to. Hope everyfur is well and staying safe!
Quarantine in the woods
So this last week the weather has perked up a little around here and I’ve been going on lots of adventures in the great outdoors!
Taking a moment on our hike to let mom capture my beauty 💜
I took the lead on this particular hike to make sure there were no dangers ahead ( and to possibly get to some poop before mom could stop me!)
This was me coming back down a very high, rocky mountain…( note from mom-it was a medium size rocky hill 😉)
Scouting ahead again to ensure everyone was safe ( I absolutely did not try to roll in poo 💩) ( mom’s note- Miss Lilly started to do the roll and tuck but luckily she only got a dab on her cheek, still needed freshened up when we got home though!)
So we are glad the weather broke so we could enjoy Mother Nature for a little while! Hope everyone is safe and well!
Quarantine blues..
So far this has been Miss Lilly’s plan for dealing with the current circumstances.
Increasing her normal nap schedule to include a few extra here and there….I think we lost count awhile back!! Stay safe everyone!!
Ruff conditions
So the weather has warmed up and I have been spending more quality time outdoors, for some strange reason mom refuses to get out my porch rugs or any of my nice cushioned furniture. I have been forced to make due with this old decorative hay bail still on the porch….I guess I’m going to have to make some calls if I want anything done around here!
Staying warm…
It’s that time of year again where I need my staff to step it up a little…the temperature has dipped down and I need some extra preparations to stay warm while doing my business…
Luckily our pals at Howlin’ Hounds know how to keep a basset warm!! With custom snoods and coats for the hard to fit hound body….
Also the staff has to do a little outside prep work and shovel some paths and potty areas since I have low clearance…. well that’s it for now stay warm everyone!!
Slow Halloween
Well we had a slow start this year, but eventually Captain Marvel decided it was time to get up…
