So I have decided to start helping around the house ( can’t hurt to do a little extra with Christmas so close!). I am a natural at doing laundry so I figured I start there…

I was going to use this to clean the clothes I had collected ( I mean it has to be good it has a basset right on it!) but mom said I should stick with pre-cleaning and she would handle the soap part. She did say she was going to put in a good word with the big guy though for being so helpful….I’m sure I’ll make the nice list again this year!! 🎅🏻

So Miss Lilly has been busy getting ready for the Holiday season…she wanted to look her best while still staying warm and cozy while out in the snow. Luckily we know an awesome little business called Howlin’ Hounds that was able to deliver with a nice fleece snood!! So this was my response when mom asked what I was barking at today….I mean doesn’t she know that those leaves could be hiding something dangerous? The woman has no idea how security works.


I finally told her she could just go back to cleaning and I would handle security on my own. I hope Santa paws is paying attention to what a good job I’m doing! 

Basset hibernation

So it’s that time of year again when the great Basset Hound hibernation rituals begin, normally when the temperature dips anywhere below 50!!


One such ritual involves looking extra pathetic and whimpering ever so slightly until mom gives up her blanket to cover you up, normally done just after a chilly potty trip.


Ritual two occurs at bedtime and involves refusal to lay down until mom gets out your blankets, then you borrow underneath for maximum warmth during the night. 

Both rituals are equally important and when well executed cements your spoiled rotten status.

Side note from mom: both rituals also increase normal basset stubbornness when getting up is necessary.
